Work Placement
Genzyme are committed to offering students opportunities across disciplines within the company and will train and develop them to enhance their knowledge and personal and professional skills.
We offer a range of placement opportunities to students including 12 month industrial placements, summer placements and work experience.
Industrial placement programme
The programme aims to assist students to gain a clear understanding of the company’s goals and strategy, and to develop the personal, technical, and commercial skills to carry them forward. All students will be encouraged to understand the business within and outside their own discipline.
The Placement Programme will be implemented on the following basis:
 | Based on a period of 12 months

| Maximised in-discipline development on projects
|
| Direct contact with an experienced Supervisor
|
| Designation of a Mentor for each student for the duration of the placement
|
| Out of discipline training and development where appropriate
|
| Out of company training and development where appropriate
|
| Designation of a Placement Coordinator
|
| Overseeing of the Placement Programme by the respective Department Head |
Our 2009 Industrial Placement Scheme has now closed for new applications.
Opportunities for our 2010 Scheme will be advertised from September 2009 onwards.
